When giving a gift might be good

There are many great reasons to give gifts, here at the giftlab we've put a list together of occasions when a gift, no matter what size, will surely be appreciated.
Well of course there's the big one - CHRISTMAS!, Christmas presents should be seen as a celebration of the festive or holy season and are normally reciprocal.
Birthdays - birthday presents are a great way to acknowledge a persons birthday as well as make them feel special at least once a year.
Mothers Day - is a recent addition to the gift giving calendar, but it's a lovely way to show your mum how much you appreciate and love her.
Fathers Day - also a recent addition to the gift giving calendar, dad's are often overlooked with present giving so it's their one day to increase their bbq, gadgets and hardware stocks.
Valentines Day - the most romantic of all gift giving occasions, your chance to really indulge the one you love, or indeed want to love.
Engagements - Gifts for the engagement should never be expected nor required, but they are fine tokens of celebration to honour the happy couple. Generally, only people very close to the couple will give engagement gifts
Weddings - People now days tend to have wedding lists to make your job of buying this present a lot more straight forward, this is probably the most formal gift giving event.
Wedding Anniversaries - these presents are given between a couple, and for the first 10 years there is a strict order to the gift giving (see our separate article).
Baby gifts - it is customary to give gifts on the arrival of a new baby, these maybe baby clothes, toys or even a wine that can be laid down until the baby is of legal age.
Finishing School or University - Congratulate the recipient on a job well done, these gifts usually help them with further study or their first job.
House Warming - given to the recipient to help them furnish, accessorise or generally settle in to their new abode.
Bon Voyage - A gift to wish the traveller luck and best wishes on their new adventure, this can be anything from a guide book to a phone card or even a camera.
Get Well - usually a gift to help the recipient get better or cheer them up, balloons, flowers or something novel will sure to bring a smile.
Other occasions when a gift maybe appropriate are as a thank you for being a house guest, passing a driving test, or even as a forgiveness present...flowers seem to work particularly well here!
